I’m Carolina Barriga, the person behind Bacata Studio. Over the years, I’ve realized that I’m a true mountain soul. The mountains have always managed to ground me more than any other place. I was born in Bogotá, lived for several years in the Río de la Plata region, then near the Costa Rican volcanoes, and for the past 13 years, I’ve been living surrounded by the Alps—first in France, and now in Switzerland.
I am an interior designer (Lasalle College Bogotá) and hold a master's degree in Digital Marketing and Communication (CREA Geneva). My journey in design has always been guided by a deep passion for creativity and innovation, with the goal of telling a compeling story.

In a way, when I decided to shift my profession from tangible spaces to the virtual ones, it was with the aim of making digital spaces simpler and more enjoyable to inhabit. In a sense, to make the "story" always more pleasant to read.
My training has allowed me to acquire a unique combination of skills, blending the aesthetic and functional aspects of interior design with cutting-edge marketing strategies. This synergy enables me to approach design holistically, ensuring that each project is not only visually appealing but also resonates with its target audience.

Storytelling is at the heart of my work. Whether it’s through well-crafted spaces, digital media, or brand identity, I believe that every design, message, and experience has a story to tell. My passion lies in creating narratives that resonate, inspire, and connect with others, making every space, brand, or experience more meaningful and impactful.
Interior Design and Digital Marketing Under One Roof?

At Bacata Studio, we blend the worlds of interior design and digital marketing, offering a unique approach that allows us to create spaces and digital experiences that are both functional and visually appealing. Whether you're redesigning a physical space or optimizing your online presence, our holistic solutions ensure that every aspect of your brand and environment resonates with your audience.
By studying design, I learned that the true definition of a designer is "a person who finds solutions." After 15 years of studying and gaining experience in design and interior architecture, I chose to immerse myself in the digital world. I enrolled in a master's program in digital marketing and communication, and I discovered that a virtual space also needs to be pleasant, efficient, and easy to navigate.
Although the digital world and interior design may seem completely opposite, their essence is the same, and this excites me. I’m convinced that I can work in both fields simultaneously, remain relevant in both areas, and offer comprehensive solutions to my clients.
Organize and Declutter
During the pandemic, I immersed myself in the fascinating world of Marie Kondo and was surprised by the aesthetic potential of even the inside of a closet, dresser, or garage. Taking advantage of the lockdown, I organized my home from top to bottom. It became a therapeutic exercise, a meditation in the chaos, and gradually, neighbors and friends began asking me to help them do the same in their homes. This approach to organization is closely related to interior design, as well as the user experience I strive to create in my digital projects.

BACATA MEANING
Bacatá est le nom de l’ancienne communauté indigène ainsi que de la région occupée aujourd’hui par Bogotá, la capitale de la Colombie. De plus, le mot Bacatá est associé à la connexion avec la nature et la croissance.
En cherchant un nom pour mon studio, j’ai voulu rendre hommage à mon lieu de naissance, naturellement très similaire à celui où je vis aujourd’hui. Bacata.ch représente, en langage digital, mon parcours sur cette terre.
Bacata.ch est mon âme andine, désormais enracinée dans la région magique des Alpes suisses.
